Community Art Center’s teen art programs have been at the forefront of creative expression and public art, driving change and fostering collaboration within our vibrant community. Mural Masters was conceived as a dynamic, fundraising event to support the Art Center's creative youth development initiatives. This exciting event is a highlight of the Port Arts Festival, which honors the rich cultural tapestry and artistic spirit of the Port neighborhood in Cambridge. Widely recognized as an innovative and wildly festive celebration of art, Mural Masters brings together four talented lead artists with teams of teen artists from the Teen Public Art Program for an unforgettable day of live mural painting. 

Over the course of a single, high-energy day, each team will conceptualize, design, and execute a large-scale mural, creating four distinct works of art in just seven hours. The finished murals are judged by the event's attendees, who have the rare opportunity to engage with the creative process and experience art-making in real time.

Since its inception in 2019, Mural Masters has been a one-of-a-kind opportunity to shine a spotlight on local talent, engage the public in the transformative power of art, and provide invaluable hands-on experience to the next generation of artists and problem-solvers. Though the global pandemic paused the event in 2020, Mural Masters returned in 2021, thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors and their commitment to the well-being and creative development of the youth in the Port neighborhood.
